Score extra discounts (and freebies) with Amazon Giveaways

Several years ago, Amazon introduced sellers and everyday members to a new giveaway tool. The tool was originally launched as an easy way to host raffle style contests on blogs and other sites. Nowadays though, it has become home to a huge amount of (mainly overseas) sellers trying to promote their products.

Now, the site is of course a great place to actually win some swag, and after entering around 40 of them, I’ve won twice – but both times the prize was just something cheap. However, the main reason for writing this post is to promote the fact that these sellers often set their contest to give away discounts to all entrants. This means you can enter with just one click, and score as much as 50% off the prize. Taking advantage of the discount is as simple as adding the product to your cart and checking out. Plenty of the stuff on offer won’t be of much interest to the roadwarrior, but there are literally thousands of items on offer each day, so travel gear fans will have plenty to chose from – including luggage, portable projectors, international power adapters and much, much more.

So, next time you need a piece of travel gear, check out the listings – if you are lucky, you’ll walk away with a free item, but at the very least you’ll score a pretty generous discount!
